spent a recent layover in a rented private cubicle right off the ncrse. a company called minute suites rents them for $30 an hour. they're sound-proof and have a tv for entertainment, a desk for working, and for napping a daybed. nelson spends about eight hours a week in airports often trying to work in a crowded gate.

ATHENS (Reuters) - Greek voters are returning to the establishment parties that negotiated its bailout, a poll showed on Thursday, offering potential salvation for European leaders who say a snap Greek election next month will decide whether it must quit the euro. The poll, the first conducted since talks to form a government collapsed and a new election was called for June 17, showed the conservative New Democracy party in first place, several points ahead of the radical leftist SYRIZA which has pledged to tear up the bailout. EU leaders say that without the bailout, Greece would be headed for certain bankruptcy and ejection from the common currency, which would sow financial destruction across the continent. The prospect SYRIZA would win the election has sent the euro and markets across the continent plummeting this week. The poll predicted New Democracy would win 26.1 percent of the vote compared to 23.7 percent for SYRIZA. ... Read the rest of the entry...
CJ-H-250VCEB We have been following the small, lightweight AN/PRC-154 Riflemen Radio, which has been passed field testing? and is in the first stages of procurement. The manpack version of this JTRS system is the AN/PRC-155. The AN/PRC-155 manpack radio is the first tactical radio for the dismounted soldier to communicate using the Wideband Networking Waveform, delivering unprecedented capacity, speed and connectivity. The AN/PRC-155 has also been field tested using the CJ-H-250-VCEB handset, with favorable results. The CJ-H-250VCEB is a perfect fit for the manpack, offering the dismounted soldier complete audio control from the handset, including quiet listen capability. Just recently, we upgraded the external earbud of the handset and have made ready new sample sets for evaluation. ?The JTRS HMS program has provided the DoD with an operationally tested two-channel manpack that can readily incorporate new waveforms. This demonstration shows the potential of the HMS platform to support the services at higher tiers of the network,? said Colonel John Zavarelli, Program Manager, Joint Tactical Radio System Handheld Manpack Small Form Fit (JTRS HMS). One of three networking waveforms in the JTRS library, WNW provides the backbone function needed to seamlessly transport large amounts of data across the tactical network. The ... ScienceDaily (May 18, 2012) ? A collaboration between Lehigh University physicists and University of Miami biologists addresses an important fundamental question in basic cell biology: How do living cells figure out when and where to grow? The study, "Oscillatory Dynamics of Cdc42 GTPase In The Control of Polarized Growth," appears May 18 in the journal Science Express. Assistant Professor Dimitrios Vavylonis and graduate student Tyler Drake joined a University of Miami research team led by Associate Professor Fulvia Verde to learn that protein Cdc42 begins the ballet of proteins that change cell polarity, by oscillating throughout the cellular membrane of new cells. By changing polarity, Cdc42 regulates shape, structure and function in yeast cells. This oscillatory mechanism may be a general strategy among all self-organizing biological systems, not just simple yeast. Researchers used fluorescent markers to tag each of the many proteins involved, observing the protein oscillate, switching sides about every five minutes. The fluctuations provide an adaptable mechanism for cells to control their size and structure in the fast-changing environment within. The findings demonstrate just part of the complex process of cell growth and differentiation, but mark how advanced the science of biophysics has become. ... Read the rest of the entry...

To recover the riches embedded in asteroids, as the recently launched Planetary Ventures aims to do, miners will first need to latch their drills onto the surface of the space rocks. NASA scientists are at work on a robotic gripper that appears up to the task. The gripper takes advantage of microspine technology pioneered by Aaron Parness, a member of the robotic vehicles and manipulator team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. The spines look like high-tech fish hooks and are able to easily attach and detach from just about any surface. The first gripper shown off in the video below has a hierarchical configuration of microspines, with 16 independent carriages, each with 12 spines. When the contraption is engaged ... Read the rest of the entry...
